Unforgiveness is shrewd. You may not even know that you have set up a camp there…

Unforgiveness does not always rear it’s head in big, bad, obnoxious ways…

Sometimes it can show itself in a quiet “eye roll” that you do, when you hear the person’s name…

Sometimes it can be a brief heavy huff, when you see a picture of them…

Sometimes it can show in the form of silent “distancing” without reason…which is really just a form of escaping any and all confrontation and very possible reconciliation…

Sometimes it can literally be a shrewd “I don’t care…” attitude that you shoulder, whenever that person is brought up in conversation…

No matter how “minor” the symptoms of your unforgiveness may seem- it IS major. That root goes deep. It will continue to grow…and as it grows, just as roots in the ground can destroy the foundation of a house- it will destroy the foundation of who you are in Christ.

Choose to forgive, sister…it isn’t worth it. It isn’t worth the foothold that you are giving the enemy in your life and the destruction that will ensue soon after. Lean into the uncomfortability…forgive them anyway.

Whatever burden you are carrying…hand it over to God. He can shoulder it and He will carry you too.

Choose freedom. Freedom from being in bondage to others and in bondage to the enemy.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

John 8:36

“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

Mark 11:25

Let’s not carry old baggage into the new year. Search my heart oh Lord…
