The worlds standard of beauty has NOTHING on what the Word of God says about you Mama…
Hey Mama…
Stop defining your beauty by the worlds standards. Define your beauty by the Word of God.
You might be in a season where most of your exercise comes from chasing your little ones around all day…That’s OK. You are doing the leg work that carries society from strength to strength. You are BEAUTIFUL.
Proverbs 31:27
She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
…Because you wear the same leggings or dress, rotated every couple of days, does not mean that you are “frumpy”. In fact, that may be the fruit of you being frugal and thrifty on a tight budget. Your selflessness, to ensure that your children have the clothes THEY need, is honorable. You are BEAUTIFUL.
Proverbs 31:21
When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
…so, you’re noticing some wrinkles and grey hair? Oh Mama, don’t even let the enemy whisper into your ear that you are less than because of that…Those things are in fact, something to celebrate. The Lord has blessed you with long life…You are BEAUTIFUL.
Proverbs 16:31
Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.
…everyone around you is getting their “lips done?” and you feel like yours are aging as each day goes by? Don’t buy into that lie…The life you speak over your children day in and day out…the sweet kisses you give to your husband as he walks through that door from a long day of work…there is nothing more beautiful. YOU are beautiful.
Proverbs 20:15
“There is gold and abundance of costly stones, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.”
“You are fearfully and wonderfully made”…every time you are tempted to critique something about yourself or your body- remember that God cannot lie.
The Holy Spirit in you, is the TRUE beauty that we should all be seeking and pursuing.
Every time you pick up those toys, wipe that baby’s bum, cook your family a meal, tidy up the kitchen counter, put on a load of laundry, sweetly kiss your husbands lips, encourage your children, put a band aid on those boo-boos, hug your babies…all with joy and all for the glory of the Lord, the Holy Spirit in you is so evident.
You are TRUELY beautiful and don’t you ever forget it!
1 Peter 3:3-4
Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
Let your influence in regards to “what beauty is”, come from the Word of God, not the world. 🤍
Proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised
Psalm 71:18
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
Job 12:12
Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days.
